Friends or just Strangers

With the improve in technology and social websites come about FRIENDSTER, TWITTER and now highly used FACEBOOK.

Inventing new and better communication devices - touch screen mobile phone like iPhone. Applications to enhance our daily life and save our hp bill - Watsapp (provides messaging services using internet with user using Watsapp).

I do love and welcome all these changes which cut down process and save time. However with everyone being able to gain access to internet and social websites, our privacy are invaded. We can update our status, our location and our photo easily. Just a click away, our friends or friend's friends will be reading them and leaving their comment.

人于人之间渐渐少了面对面的见面方式。 我们花更多的时间面对自己的手机！ 我们不再打电话互说心事而是在Facebook发泄情绪。 朋友或敌人都分不清楚了。 大家都忙着回复其他人的FB， 人们都变的好虚伪。

Kimchi making workshop

Had been receiving Korea Tourism Organisation email blast since don't know when. KTO communicate to readers Korea's latest offerings and Korea related happenings in Singapore. KTO also offers cooking and Korean language workshop. Guess what attracts me? Of cours it is the Korea cooking class! All cooking class is charge at $5 per session for ingredients.

They offer kimchi making, tteokbokki and japchae workshop. Each workshop runs from once to twice a month on a weekday at 4.30pm. That means that I have to apply half day leave to attend the workshop. Alamak.

Called Ting Ting to join the class and applied immediately when we saw the email. Was excited but Ting couldn't not join me on that day. She said she had left office when her Boss called her back to prepare some documents. They are having audit. Haiz.. End up going alone... ... My class in on 1 October 2010, Friday at 4.30pm.

This corner have all these korean costume which u can wear it and take photos. Free of charge. Wanted to take some photos but I am alone. So next time ba!

Preparing to demostrate how to wash the cabbage.

Our individual work station. They providedrecipe, container, glove, disposable apron and wet tissue. She start by showing how to cut, clean and soak the cabbage. Then she demostrate making of the kimchi sauce. Afterwhich we are given 2 quarter piece of the pre-prepared cabbage and some kimchi sauce to marinate our own kimchi. See this is my portion.

We wipe some kimchi sauce on each leave and wrap it up using the most outer leave and place into our container. Our teacher did one portion and cut it up immediately to let us taste it. Didn't know that we can eat it immediately after marinating but it will not be sour as fermentation have not start.

See my own kimchi to bring home! Will definitely go for their other cooking class.

Hush Puppies Sales

Happening from 30 Sep to 17 Oct 10 @ Bukit Batok Street 22.

Sandy had been talking about Hush Puppies sale since the beginning of September. She remembers that it should be happening around this time of the year. During our lunches, we are still chatting about it wonder if we had missed it.

On 27 Sep 10, Monday, Maya called our extension to inform us that the delivery Uncle asked her if she had went to the sale next door. Upon hearing the question, she knows that it is HP sale again. So excited to inform us on this. We went over during lunch only to know that it is starting only on 30 Sep 10. So Pai Sei.

Wait... Wait... Wait... ...

Yeah! It is 30 Sep already and we dash our way to HP sale again during lunch. This time round I went with my Darling Jeanne, Rohaya and Rasidah. What are our damages? As usual, bought undergarment for daddy and myself. I bought a unknown brand brief for my dad at only $3 for a box of 3. So cheap right! Wonder if it is comfortable? Myself??? I bought 2 levis boxer at only $5 and a grey top. Jeanne also bought the same grey top for herself. Our first couple top. Haha

But it is not enough. I am still thinking about this floral spag top selling at $16. Find the price a little high for a simple top but it is from HP (trying to psycho myself that it is of a better quality). I was also considering whether to buy one polo tee for Ying Hai as I saw his comment on Hui Shan facebook that HP in Indonesia only sells wallet and shoe. But the issue is, how do I get the polo tee to his hands?

Walk pass HP sale during lunch again on 5 Oct, Tues. Saw the super big HP logo male polo tee which Jeanne was looking for on our first trip to the sale. I message her immediately and we decide to drop by again after work at 6pm.

Oh back at the sale again and she grabbed 2 big HP logo polo tee. We also bought another couple top. Haha.. NOT AGAIN RIGHT! =P We planned to wear it this coming Sat on our Kukup trip. Can't wait to go for a short break.

I can't decide what to buy for Ying Hai, thus ended up taking some photos and sending it to him to select. Hope he can reply me fast. I shall stop nagging here. See some of the photos which I sent him.

Agar Agar Mooncake

18, 19 September 2010, Saturday & Sunday.


Spent my weekends away doing agar agar mooncake. First started when I bought my moulds from Jurong West during lunch. Lu Ma Ma bought us out for lunch and we walk pass this neighbour shop selling baking products. They have lots of mooncake agar agar mould. He He I cannot resist them so got a few. See this is how much I bought in 2 trips to the shop.

Did some google search and found lots of agar agar mooncake photos. Didn't know it is so popular and so many variety outside.
Start to plan my menu and end up buying so many artificial colouring and flavouring.
These are all the items required. Spent quite a bit on all these.

The most expensive product on the list. Agar agar powder costs me around $12. But it is quite a big bottle. Can use for a long period.

Measure and measure, weight and weight... ...

Got the egg yolk idea from other people's blog and tried doing it myself. Made using carrot juice and agar agar powder. Was so excited when it is ready.

See... Does it looks like real duck egg yolk. So cute and Q in texture.

Tried chrysanthemum flavour with egg yolk. Turn out to be so pretty but the chrysanthemum taste is not strong enough.

Did all these for my Muslim colleagues! I bought new pots and ingredients and these disposable container for them. So pretty right!

This is my favourite! Yam topping, rose syrup top half and coconut milk bottom half.

This is not bad too. Bandung topping, yam top portion and rose syrup bottom portion.

This is chrysanthemum with 4 yolks.

Guess this is for who???

For my darling Jeanne at work. She bought the bear bear mould asking me to do the agar for her. Used all the leftover after forming the other moulds to make this bear. Turn out to be so attractive looking. Am so proud of myself.
